STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Are You Over-Alls?

In today’s fashion world, it seems as though every so often our wardrobe gets a hint of deja-vu. That’s one of the things I love most about fashion; it has an ever-revolving door that is continuously digging out buried trends. This buried trend is a favorite among Fashionistas/os, the overall. Along with other buried trends such as crop tops and flannels, overalls have been all over the fashion scene. They’ve been seen on celebrities, bloggers, editors and basically on any street style website. Starting in 2013, high fashion designers such as Stella McCartney, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Isabel Marant incorporated the ’90s trend into their collections. Today, this versatile trend is still going strong.

This Fashionista’s overall (no pun intended) vibe is comfy and casual, yet still edgy. One thing in particular I like about her overalls is the slouch they have; it’s more of a boyfriend fit and the rips gives her look its cool factor. I also like how she added a sweater underneath instead of just a baggy T-shirt; it’s different and makes her style more interesting. She finishes off the look with a white sneaker and gray, slouchy cardigan for that ‘I just don’t care, but I know I look awesome’ vibe. Another way she amps up her ensemble is with her arm candy. She had a a lot of cool and different pieces on. She told me her rings she actually made herself; how adorable are they.

Also, for those Fashionistas that are just so over the overalls trend, try it out in leather! Style icon Olivia Palermo has turned overalls into an acceptable date night ensemble. But honestly, what doesn’t Olivia look good in?
