Spring weather is right around the corner, but with the new season and fresh flowers comes a ton of rain. Finding a look that can brave the weather and also make a fashion statement can be a little bit challenging.
Raincoats aren’t ideal for Fashionistas/os because they just mask your look. No one wants to work on the perfect outfit just to have it covered up by a giant ugly coat. Instead, go for a big umbrella in a bright hue so you can showcase your ensemble while adding a little bit of cheerfulness to the gloomy day. Today’s Fashionista chose an umbrella in yellow which I can’t help to say that it reminds me of Ted Mosby’s future wife in How I Met Your Mother.
Now that you’ve got the protection from the umbrella, you can wear pretty much anything. Just stay away from long pants or maxi skirts as they tend to drag in the puddles. Instead, opt for some high-waisted shorts and a pair of faux leather platform boots. The shoes will lift you out of the mud and are an easy cleanup. For the top half of your outfit, keep it simple like today’s Fashionista, with a vintage floral crop top and an oversized faux leather jacket that will also help shield the rain.
As you can see, being a Fashionista/o in the rain isn’t tricky at all. Just remember to wear waterproof shoes and clothing that can get wet and won’t drag on the ground. Just make sure you have your umbrella and you’re set!
