A very unlikely match is what I would call it. Peplum is a unique shirt that is fitted up top and, as you get closer to the bottom of the garment, there is an extension of material that flares out and covers the hips. It gives off a more girly feel and is often worn to create a dressy look. It is also a very flattering top, as it usually makes a girl’s waist appear smaller. Fringe is usually found on moccasins, vest or jackets. In the past, fringe pieces were worn by indigenous people. Fringe creates a more chill and relaxed look and usually creates a more casual approach to an outfit. Normally, the two would never go together. However, this Fashionista made it work.
The first thing that caught my eye was the color selection of the Fashionista’s outfit. She wore navy blue, white, burgundy and black. The warm colors reminded me of the transition that would soon be coming from summer to fall. Being that fall is my favorite season, this excited me. Her peplum top was navy blue with white stripes going across, her pants were slim and burgundy and her shoes were black with a whole lot of fringe.
You can pull this look off, too. The outfit is definitely great for a casual day while also maintaining a professional look. The peplum top keeps things classy and the fringed sandals give it a more laid-back look. Peplum tops can be found in many different stores. For example, there is a really nice peplum shirt at ASOS. Also, Jessica Simpson has a nice pair of fringe sandals that can be found here.
