STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A New Take On Florals

For as long as any fashion lover can remember, spring has been a time for floral. As soon as the April showers let up, clothing racks are draped in floral print garments as our are wardrobes. Now although floral printed everything is a great way to pay homage to Mother Nature, I think it is time we shake it up a bit with our predictable choices. This Fashionista shows the perfect way to wear floral in a new and unique way for the springtime.

As we all know by now from watching The Devil Wears Prada, a traditional floral print is not a revolutionary fashion choice for this time of the year. Opting for a floral crochet top, this Fashionista takes an updated approach to wearing floral. The intricate detailing of the top gives a bit of a boho babe feel while remaining feminine. Layering a nude cami underneath provides coverage and seamlessly keeps the crocheted top the focal point of the look.

Pairing the top with classic blue denim and a leather tote (I found out this Fashionista actually made hers! How cool is that?) kept the outfit simple and put-together. Adding pops of gold to the look by layering dainty necklaces and rings gives a touch of femininity to the already delicate top. Lastly, her brown gladiator sandals are on-trend for the spring and will remain a staple shoe well into the summer.

Dare to break the mold this season and find a new way to incorporate spring florals into your wardrobe. You for sure can take some notes from this Fashionista on how to master the look and shake things up.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: “Not only is this shirt light, airy and cute, but it also gives an updated look to the floral trend. I like that I took a different approach to the same old look. Try to think of new ways you can recreate the classic trends from season to season.”
