I am 5″ 4′, which is considered a pretty average height for girls, however there are some styles that will either shrink or elongate my height. A maxi dress is a silhouette that I have been battling for a while. I never bothered trying them on because I assumed it would be too long and it would need alterations, which in my opinion is a little too much work. But my friends, especially those who are shorter, I am here to say that maxi dresses will not make you appear shorter! A few weeks ago I purchased a navy blue, striped maxi and I must say I am very much in love. Naturally I am on a striped maxi frenzy which is why this Fashionista caught my attention as she donned this stunning dress with fringe on the bottom.
My new found love has me excited about trying maxis in other prints and fits. What I like about a long fitted dress is it can be made into a make-shift skirt by pairing it with a T-shirt that is tied at the hemline. I am also intrigued by bohemian styles such as this airy, crochet dress from Free People. Then of course there is the maxi that can be worn to a fancier affair. I am lusting over this black jersey-knit dress that can be worn with strappy heels and bold accessories for a fun filled evening.
I’ve pretty much talked myself into buying like twenty more maxi dresses, but when there is a style to match every mood and occasion, how could I not?
