STYLE ADVICE: Layers are a Girl’s Best Friend

The new year has just started, which in turn brings new fashion crazes. Although this is true, some styles and fashion trends never seem to go out of style. One of my favorite things to do is layering clothes, especially in the cold winter months ahead of us.

This Fashionista is bearing the cold with a heavy jacket, but does not sacrifice fashion underneath the jacket. She decided to layer multiple pieces to create a cute look while still staying warm in the brisk winter air.

This Fashionista has taken layers to another level by combining two jackets along with a flowing tank top and a cute bralette. Personally, I love the color combination that she chos. From the brown coloring of the winter jacket lining perfectly with the olive green of the lighter jacket, it all looked good! To compliment the color palate even more, this Fashionista chose a dark purple tank top that flows perfectly off the body with her stylish maroon bralette peeking out to show a playful side to the outfit. This Fashionista also wanted to add the cute accessory of a shark tooth choker to add another playful element. I really liked this added touch because chokers made a comeback in 2016, and will hopefully be staying now that 2017 has begun.

With all of the playful elements on top, I think that it was a smart choice for this Fashionista to keep it simple on the bottom with a nice pair of leggings. To keep her feet warm, she went with a nice pair of slipper socks, a staple in any girl’s wardrobe, and paired them with her winter pink Crocs. She is a huge advocate for Crocs, and is dying for them to make a comeback in 2017. Even though they are not my personal favorite, they do add a unique touch of playfulness to the overall outfit.

The new year will provide all different fashion trends that everyone will be hopping on, but personally, I think layering will always be an easy fashion trend to stick with. The color combinations are always unique and add another dimension to an outfit that everyone will be looking at.
