STYLE ADVICE: Dressing the Season

In South Carolina, the weather is always unpredictable, especially in the winter. Summer is always hot and humid. In the winter, however, one day may be 40 degrees and raining while the next day is sunny and 75. Be prepared for those random warm days and take my style advice of the week to heart.

The most important part of choosing what to wear is to be sure to dress for the season, not for the weather. Even on those 75 degree days, be sure to still dress like it is December. This Fashionista knows exactly what she is doing. The idea is to wear either long sleeves with shorts, or short sleeves with pants. This way you’re not completely dressed for going to the beach in the winter, but still feel comfortable. This Fashionista chooses to wear adorable jean shorts that her mom would have loved back in the ’80s. She pairs them with an oversized sweater and black booties. The sweater and the booties remind everyone that school isn’t out for summer just yet.

This Fashionista adds accessories to her outfit to pull it all together. With a wrap choker, many gold rings on both hands, and a suede crossbody bag, the outfit is complete. She finishes the look with a high half bun, just enough eye makeup, and bright purple lip stick. The lip stick she chose is my favorite part of the outfit, as it makes a statement. This Fashionista shows how an outfit can show confidence. Be bold and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. That is how you are noticed!
