STYLE ADVICE: Classic Looks Hit The Burgh

As the year winds down, a lot of us are still home on winter break stepping over opened Christmas presents and eating leftover cookies from Christmas Eve. For me, these last couple of days before the new year has meant being out and about exploring the cities around me. Even amid the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I was bound to find someone putting their fashionable Christmas gifts on display. Pittsburgh was no exception.

From head to toe we had a sure sign of a Fashionista. The effortless look of the entire ensemble caught my eye first. A pair of chiffon shorts in December would probably not be the first choice for many city-dwelling Fashionistas, but this outfit proves to be the perfect winter go-to. Pairing the shorts with black tights and a basic black long sleeve T-shirt has perfectly converted the summer style. The black thigh-high boots give this outfit life. Not only do they add the perfect amount of sass, but they keep the legs warm while running around the city. We even tested that theory out when this Fashionista gave me a little tour of some of her favorite Pittsburgh spots. With a light beige cape coat to top it off, this street style has become a showstopper. It is timeless, chic, and classy at best. Santa definitely knew how to make this Fashionista happy this year.

When it’s cold and windy, and you only have to travel a couple blocks, it’s easy to fall into the routine of sweatpants and sneakers. But know how easy it is to grab a pair of shorts out of the closet and those new boots Santa left under the tree and create a fashionable look for your trek across town. Life is too short to wear boring clothes.
