STYLE ADVICE: A Pop of Pink

Living in New York has a lot of perks, but brunch in the city definitely tops the list. On a warm day, you can easily head down to SoHo for cult favorites like Jack’s Wife Freda or The Butcher’s Daughter. One of my new favorite spots on such days (and any other day, really) is Cha Cha Matcha. Matcha is their specialty, and it comes accessible in almost any form—latte, lemonade, and the beloved frozen yogurt.

This Fashionista dressed perfectly for the occasion! In a traditional New York manner, she starts with a dark base: dark wash jeans, a black T-shirt, black boots, and a black crossbody bag. However, to counter the monochrome aesthetic of her look, she adds a light pink leather jacket that happened to match Cha Cha Matcha’s color scheme as an added bonus. It is casual enough for brunch and froyo, but even just swapping the dark wash jeans for black ones and the booties for something with more of a heel is enough to take this look from day to night.

It’s easy to get stuck in an outfit rut when your favorite pieces soon become the only things you seem to wear. For me it’s basics (you can’t go wrong with all black), but sometimes you need to spice things up! The next time you get dressed, try to ignore what you immediately gravitate towards in your closet and think about where you’ll be going or what you’ll be doing that day. If you’re going to a restaurant or park, try and draw inspiration from elements of those places.

I hope this helps inspire you the next time you’re out on the town. If you like this look and want to see more, make sure to follow me on social media. I’d love to connect with you!
