When you are bombarded with advertisements for notebooks, bedspreads and futons, it can only mean one thing: back to school is around the corner. After an entire season filled with shorts and tanks, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is more than ready to get my hands on some fall attire. The transition from summer to fall can be weird; jumping from tank tops right to sweaters just feels wrong, which is why I loved this Fashionistas outfit. Her outfit is the perfect in between summer and fall period.
Because the weather is starting to get cooler, the pants were an apt choice. However, rather than wearing dark jeans she kept it somewhat summery with the white and blue patterned pants. The subtle blue floral pattern against the white allows the pants to be the ideal in between season pants. The blue color works for September, whereas if she chose a bolder color such as a pink floral it would be too summery to also wear for fall. Similar styles can be found at H&M, J.Crew and DKNY.
Last week, I wrote about the denim dress. This week I was surprised but delighted to find a denim shirt that can be easily incorporated into a fall wardrobe. In cooler weather, this shirt would look great with a cardigan or blazer over it. This shirt caught my eye because it is more unique than the denim button-downs I frequently see.
Her closed toe crochet shoes were a nice change of pace after a season full of flip flops. The light material makes the shoes still appropriate for summer, but are nice change from the usual sandal. You can find these extremely comfortable shoes at TOMS.
Although it can be tempting to shop the current summer sales, it is important to look for pieces that can ease the transition into fall. It’s been a stylish summer for sure, but now I can’t wait to see what styles fall has in store.
