STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Spring is Almost Here!

Style Advice of the Week

Spring is almost here everyone! I am personally excited to get rid of my heavy sweaters and replace them with my bright-colored, flowy dresses. We’re getting into those days where it’s cold in the morning, warm in the afternoon, then cold again at night. Even though spring is not quite here yet in New Hampshire, one can still incorporate their spring pieces by layering or adding some tights. This Fashionista got into the spring spirit by wearing this lovely floral skirt. She paired it with a black, sheer blouse and a light brown anorak jacket. Then she wore black tights with dark brown boots. This is a perfect example of an outfit that can be worn throughout the day. If it gets too warm, then all she has to do is take her jacket off. I love how her cargo jacket added toughness to her floral skirt. I think adding an edgy piece with a more feminine piece is a great combination.

Floral prints are always a must during the spring. One can find floral prints on dresses to shorts, and even to shoes. In this case, this Fashionista has a tight-fitting, floral skirt. Floral skirts come in many styles and lengths. Here is a cute peplum skirt from NASTY GAL that can add some curves. It is very versatile because one can dress it up or down. Another way of wearing a floral skirt is by tucking in a blouse or wearing a loose sweater. If you don’t feel like tucking it in then adding a belt over the blouse or sweater can define your waist. Since the weather has been questionable adding a cardigan would help keep you warm throughout the day. I adore how denim and floral prints look together, so adding a denim blouse or jacket can be a great combo. When the weather starts getting warmer, pairing it with a crop top can look great too. Denim, crop tops and cargo jackets are big trends this season.

Next time you look in your closet, think of ways to incorporate your winter pieces with your spring pieces like this Fashionista has done. Who knows, maybe you will find something new!
