I spotted this Fashionista outside Ruggles T station rocking red hair and awesome rainboots, which caught my eye almost instantly.
Name: Julia Boudreau
Major: Psychology
Year: Freshman
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
Julia Boudreau: My top and pants are from T.J. Maxx, and my jacket is from Buckle. The rain boots are from DSW Shoes.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
JB: I like to stay comfortable, but look nice. I'm not going to wear 5-inch stilettos, normally, but I like to keep it chic. I love patterns and color, and I'm a believer in piling on the accessories.
CF: Who do you look to for fashion inspiration?
JB: I’m obsessed with Pretty Little Liars! Aria’s artsy edge and Spencer’s classic elegance mixed together pretty much define my style.
CF: What’s your fall must have item?
JB: Scarves! They keep you warm and they play the same role as tights; They're functional but still cute, and they're an instant way to personalize an oufit.
CF: How many times a day do you change outfits?
JB: I only change outfits if I work out, usually.
CF: What fashion item can you not live without?
JB: The infinite possibilities of colors, textures and patterns of tights are one reason I wear them non-stop. I also think they're the perfect summer-to-fall transition piece, because they can extend the life of high-waist shorts, a floaty dress or a floral skirt way past spring and summer.
How To: Don't be afraid to rock colored or printed pants! Forever 21 has a huge assortment at inexpensive prices. Adding cool touches like a tribal print in a neutral color and a great leather jacket completely updates the look. And, of course, in Boston it could be 70 degrees or hurricane weather, so a pair of great, unique, and functional rain boots are a must in order to stave off the elements.
