Face it, sometimes the most a college student can think of is what test is coming up next and how many shots of espresso it will take to get through the next class. Determining what to wear is just not on the top of our minds, especially at this point in the semester when professors are assigning tests on top of projects and finals are quickly creeping up upon us. Sometimes the last thing one can figure out is what outfit to choose. In reality, a pair of heels and a dress are just not going to work out for a day spent running to and from class on campus or cramming for an exam.
On my way to the library, or should I say my second home, I spotted this Fashionista with an effortlessly chic look. Amongst the sea of sweatpants wearing students, this Fashionista had a refreshing take on how to look stylish, but still be casual and low-key. The fundamental piece that stood out was her cropped trench coat. Layered over a simple white T-shirt and fall-appropriate maroon colored pants, it completes her look. A lightweight coat is a simple way to warm up as temperatures drop and pull together an outfit. What’s more compelling about this Fashionista’s outfit is her cropped trench coat. Basic and understated yes, but a full-fledged trench is just not the most practical thing to have on when sitting in a small classroom desk or lounging in the library.
Check out this cropped trenchcoat by Lacoste or this one from Anne Klein. Lastly, books and other study necessities tossed into her white and navy stripe tote is a college necessity. Slip on a pair of broken-in Sperry Top-Siders, grab a Starbucks and your set for a study session.
