The unofficial start of fall is here. And to Fashionistas and Fashionistos alike that means one thing—jacket season!
If you are anything like me, with some many great trends, patterns and silhouettes, limiting myself to one jacket for fall is impossible. However, tackling the jacket wishlist and not breaking the bank takes strategy.
Never fear, Fashionistas/os—we have cracked the code for you and your budget. Check out the six major jacket trends for fall we are obsessed with and which ones we think are worth the splurge!
1. Bomber
Splurge—A jacket that looks just as good with a pair of cut-offs as it does over a LBD is worth spending the extra cash on. Think of it in terms of cost per wear when clicking “purchase.”
2. Duster
Splurge—Is it it a jacket, trench or robe? Whatever you call it—it is the epitome of chic and a great piece to transition from your classes to your internship.
3. Denim
Save—When’s the last time you heard the term “investment denim jacket?” I’ll tell you when—never. So save yourself the sheckles on this and pick up an inexpensive denim jacket to get in on the trend.
4. Printed
Save—The best thing about a printed jacket? Making a statement! The only downside? Spending your entire savings on a single jacket and making that statement over and over and over again…
Splurge—This trend has been around for a few seasons now, demanding major atten-tion (get the military joke there?). Given the last power of this look, invest in a jacket that will last you a few seasons.
6. Plaid
Save—Sure we love plaid for fall, but the pattern is very seasonal. So don’t break the bank on a patterned jacket that is appropriate only for pumpkin-spice latte season.
