This Fashionista was spotted walking down Broadway in a dark green cable knit cardigan with a floral tank top and grey skinny jeans. Cable knit sweaters have become very popular this season, not only for their warmth but also for their look. It’s a cozy way to stay in style while being protected from the harsh weathers and still looking casual. Right next to peacoats, cable knit sweaters are the next best fall piece of clothing for outwear. It’s thicker than your usual sweater and warm enough to wear without another jacket. I would say that the cable knit sweater is the perfect fall piece for outwear.

CollegeFashionista: How would you define fashion?
Dayna Clarke: I think fashion has all the characteristics of art. If you put the thought and time into it, you can play with color, pattern, proportion and all that good stuff. So, like any art, I'd like to think of fashion as a means of personal expression.
CF: Do you think the shopping experience in downtown Seattle differs from your hometown mall?
DC: I'm a bargain hunter, so I don't do too much shopping at the high end stores downtown, but I definitely think the price reflects the uniqueness and quality of the clothes sold in Seattle shops. It seems like malls mostly sell just generic reproductions of designer clothes, so there is definitely a difference in quality and value when shopping at the mall.
CF: What is your most treasured item in your closet?
DC: I have a light blue handbag with thick white stitching along the top. The pastel color and design is pretty vintage, and the best part is that the inside of the bag is hot pink. It's for sure my favorite bag.
How to: This Fashionista loves vintage clothing, so go to your nearest Value Village or Crossroads and pick out some fabulous vintage pieces. Also, this Fashionista has a passion for the environment, so an ecofriendly tote bag would go great with a vintage outfit.
