LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Preppy in a Peacoat

Let's Hear it for the Boys

During this chilly season we are enduring here at Marist College, it is very hard to maintain a stylish look while bundling up to battle this harsh winter weather. Despite what some may think, fashion should not be compromised in order to keep cozy in the cold. Even though this Fashionisto has to layer up in order to make it from one end of campus to the other, he does it well with his outfit of choice.

He chose to pair his outfit with a trendy, black peacoat from Calvin Klein, which is the perfect outerwear for the windy days we have been recently suffering. A peacoat is the best choice when it comes to winter jackets because it is so versatile and can be dressed both up and down. There are all different types of peacoats, some lighter ones to transition from season to season and also heavier wool ones for the dead of winter. Something that makes this peacoat different from most is the inner shell it has. Not only does this peacoat button down the center, but it also has an inner lining that can be zipped up to the neck. Definitely a necessity for New York winters!

In order to make his peacoat class appropriate, he dressed it down with his light wash, Levi Brand Jeans and tan Timberlands. I am not surprised to have spotted another Fashionisto on campus wearing stripes. With the abundance of this pattern on the spring 2013 runways, it is no shock to see so many stripes around campus! For the last final touch, he put on his Ray-Ban Wayfarers to protect his eyes from the typical hazy, winter sun.

Hint: Looking to dress up your peacoat? Put it on over khakis and a clean looking button-up for a flawless, classic look.
