LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: CorduBOY

Let's Hear it for the Boys

Now that everyone has arrived back on campus, I have spotted so many Fashionistos rocking some awesome new winter clothes to start the semester off right. When getting dressed for class, it is often a challenge to find the perfect outfit to impress your new teachers and peers. Another issue many men encounter during the winter months is finding a stylish jacket that can accompany many great outfits and be worn regularly.

This Fashinonisto took his first day of classes serious with this trendy look he pulled together. In order to walk to class without freezing in this chilly New York weather jackets are a necessity. This Ralph Lauren corduroy jacket and J.Crew scarf kept him warm during the long trek across campus. What’s great about this jacket is that it’s a very versatile piece and can be worn in many settings. Not only is it perfect for walking to class, this coat would also be ideal for a casual dinner out or a family event. Who could forget about accessories? The scarf adds a little something to the whole look, not to mention it complements the pants perfectly!

Just because certain colors or styles are known to be worn in the spring doesn’t mean they can’t be sported out of season. This Fashionisto made his dark brown Sperry Top-Siders season appropriate by wearing them with winterlike accessories (such as the corduroy jacket) and thick socks. The Sperrys aren’t the only spring item the Fashionisto chose this morning. The purple oxford shirt adds a pop of color to the outfit, as well as brings out the light purple in the stitching on the scarf.

Hint: To pull off the perfect winter look for class, pair together pieces that you might not have thought of looking good together. For example, gray and corduroy is not a combination one would think of but it actually looks good together. Try another unexpected combo such as a plaid shirt and white jeans. For a more classic look, pair a corduroy jacket like this Fashionisto was spotted in with a white oxford button down and jeans.
