Since I was little my favorite past time has been to dress-up and not much has changed. I love to put together outfits and to admire those who have a impeccable ability to do the same. I admire the feminine and sophisticated ladies of the 1950's and 1960's and the street style mavens of NYC today. Accordingly, my style idols are Alexa Chung, Blaire Edie and Audrey Hepburn. I admire style that transcends time and try to steer clear of fadish trends. My style is instead preppy and classic with slight urban influences from the city I grew up in.
Currently, I study International Relations with a minor in Communications and Mass Media Studies at Tufts University, outside of Boston. This has given me the chance to learn about and to explore another city and its fashion aesthetic (which is SO different than my hometown of Chicago!). This past summer I interned at a start-up online publication geared towards college-aged women and an experience marketing agency. At school I am the Editor-in-Chief of my campuses branch of an online publication called Her Campus, the Sales Director for the main campus newspaper, a blogger for a national beauty blog and my own blog, and interning for College Fashionista. I love fashion and I love business and I hope to combine both into a rewarding career.
I am originally from Chicago, love to explore, and like used book stores, vintage clothing shops, museums, new cafes, public parks, the beach, old movies, the NYT, documentaries, boutiques, social events and anything or anywhere else where I could learn something new or meet someone new (or more importantly get an idea for my next outfit and thus have a reason to go shopping again!).
I am so excited to be a Style Guru this season!
