WHAT TO WEAR: On The Quad

What to Wear

For starters, Northwestern doesn’t actually have a quad.

But either way, you have to look cute for just hanging out on campus right?

Take a look at this fabulous Fashionnista, sporting animal print that should remind you a little of last week. Although the print is similar, the style is totally different! This week, it’s straight lines and simplicity. The coat is awesome, hands down and without a doubt, but there is more than what catches the eye.

The shoes are phenomenal. Black, velvet Dr. Martens. Docs are essential to life and if you didn’t believe me before when I said anyone can pull them off, you should now! This Fashionista is still extremely girly in the classically punk footwear. On top of that, who doesn’t love velvet?  It’s a unique and elegant texture that vamps up any outfit. Dr. Martens are also easy on the eyes and feet — perfect for walking around.

What I really like about this outfit is the cuffed jeans. For some reason a good cuff just always looks good. Although it seems like an easy task, cuffing is an art form that when executed correctly is a perfect alternative to those great pair of jeans you have that are a little too short. It is almost impossible for me to find jeans of the correct inseam. Then, when I find them, my wallet and my soul begin to ache. Thanks to the cuff, we can stick to the wallet-friendly denim.

The part of the outfit that dubs it perfect for campus lounging is the cross-body bag. Backpacks are for books and purses are for storing everything that’s not strictly academic.  The hard part about purses is they usually occupy a much needed hand. The cross-body bag is practical and cute. You’re hands are free and your belongings are packaged in style.

One Simple Change: Switch out the Dr. Martens with flats for a perfect presentation look.
