STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Beating The Winter Blues

Style Advice of the Week

Finally, the sun has shone once again in the midst of the coldest days and snowiest nights the Czech Republic has to offer. Even though most university students would rather sit inside and keep warm, this Fashionista decided to brave the heaps of snow and flaunt a cute outfit while she’s at it. She brought out her Ray-Ban cat-eye sunglasses for the first time this year to beat the winter blues. The sunglasses are paired with simple black leggings, maroon wedge booties, a black studded cross-body bag and a belted peacoat.

Even though the Urban Outfitters studded cross-body bag and the cat-eye sunglasses are both black, they really add a spring feel into the average winter ensemble. The peacoat is a classic winter piece that can also be brought into the coming spring months when the mornings are still a little chilly. Adding a belt over the coat gives some shape to a bulky winter outfit, creating a more feminine look. To contrast the dominating black color, maroon wedge booties are worn for both style and comfort while strolling the snowy streets.

If you fell in love with the studs trend last season, your obsession can continue because they will make their way into spring on ballet flats, sandals, handbags, skirts and tank tops. Studded, especially neon studded, cross-body bags will be a major style statement when paired with warm weather outfits. Cat-eye sunglasses are the latest spring accessory on both the runways and the streets. While this Fashionista sports a pair of Ray-Ban cat-eye sunglasses, there are definitely cheaper, yet fashionable alternatives for your spring wardrobe.
