STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: DIY Headband

Style Advice of the Week

Recently I've been seeing a variety of different styles of headbands being rocked. These aren't the Blair Waldorf headbands from Gossip Girl that you might be thinking though. They have been giving off a boho vibe, and I'm loving the little bit of flare the give to an outfit. To perfectly rock a headband in your outfit the main things to keep in mind are creating a color pallet that matches your headband. If the headband has a fun print, dress in colors similar to the print. The headband should be the statement of the outfit.

In this photo, this Fashionista is styling her own headband creation. She took a used FreePeople bag, folded it repeatedly, tied it at the top, and moved the tie under her hair so it would not be visible. This headband was so easy to create and adds a unique touch to her outfit. It can be replicated with any cloth bag, simple or printed. She paired her outfit with an off the shoulder shirt and soft maxi skirt, creating a care free, boho look.

Aside from creating your own headband, there are many different styles available in several stores right now. I've been seeing many knit, across the forehead headbands. I love to sport this look, and its nice to get be hair pushed out of my face in a fashionable way. This floral headband is perfect for summer, for the fabric is light and bright. I've also seen many thinner headbands with flowers adorned on them, such as this one, which will add a true nature-girl vibe to your outfit. If you're a little hesitant about this look try this simple headband for a simpler addition to your outfit.
