FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Leah Best

Fashionista Spotlight

Shoes are a girl’s best friend, but not mine. I have always had a difficult time shopping for shoes; it’s the width, the height or the fit that just isn’t right. I tend to look up to Fashionistas with a big shoe collection, as well as the confidence to walk to class in tall heels and poised strides. I spotted this Fashionista on her way to her morning class in a pair of cobalt blue heels. Her look confirmed the saying, “Shoes can make or break an outfit.” The shoes unified the cobalt blue color scheme and definitely made this outfit stand out. I couldn’t help but be curious as to where she goes shoe shopping because it is clear that she has no problem finding the right pair!

Name: Leah Best

Major: History

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where are they from?

Leah Best: My blazer is from Forever 21 and my Hello Kitty shirt is from Journeys. My jeans are from American Eagle Outfitters and my shoes are from Burlington Coat Factory. My scarf is actually from BrittsKnits (my friend’s knitting company) and my bracelet was a gift.

CF: Where are your favorite places to shop, especially shoe shopping?

LB: My [favorite] stores to shop are Target, Forever 21, H&M and rue21. Its style is comfortable and cute, and I enjoy looking cute and being comfortable. Well, I’m addicted to shoes, so I shop at many places for them. If I had to pick my top three stores or websites, they would be ShoeDazzle, Jessica Simpson and a shoe store called Traffic.

CF: What is your favorite way to accessorize an outfit?

LB: My favorite way to accessorize is to get big, obnoxious things that no one thinks to wear. I like standing out.

CF: Which celebrity is your style inspiration?

LB: Beyoncé and Raven Symoné are my celebrity inspirations for clothes because they wear things that stand out. They wear things that are vibrant and different, and they like obnoxious things just like me. Their clothing styles are very inspirational to me.

How To: To get this Fashionista’s look, check out these Dollhouse black pumps from DSW and blazer from ASOS. To add some brighter colors, I recommend these green Gap skinnies and this T-shirt from Karmaloop!
