Fur is one of my favorite trends this winter. I love seeing the different ways that fur can be integrated into outfits and made to complete a look. It’s been on earmuffs, jackets and boots. However, there is something especially chic about fur along the neckline, and this Fashionista sported it well. Not only did her Michael Kors scarf keep her warm, but it also framed her face, making an elegant and classy look. Now that it’s almost the end of a frigid and fashionable winter, it feels appropriate to pay homage to fur and other trends from this season.
Her burgundy oversized knit jacket was also very current. She decided to wear a girly black dress underneath clenched with a belt, which was a nice feminine touch. Her ripped tights reminded me of the ‘90s grunge trend, and I cannot forget her Steve Madden accessories with the brand’s awesome pair of buckled combat boots and black patent leather bag. Needless to say, this Fashionista combined plenty of trends and pulled together a look that is worthy of a second, third and fourth glance!

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
CG: I am wearing Steve Madden shoes. My tights are from Primark in London. My dress is from Juicy Couture, and my belt is from Zara. My scarf is from Michael Kors. My knit sweater is from Urban Outfitters and my bag is Steve Madden.
CF: Who are your style inspirations?
CG: I love Heidi Klum. She always looks perfect. I love her outfits, and she is always put together. [I also like] Betsey Johnson because she is totally different. She’s so crazy, but she has a big spirit. She wears wacky outfits, but she is always cute.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
CG: I love Zara. It is probably one of my favorite stores. [I also like] Urban Outfitters and Free People. I love Free People because they are very boho, and I just love their prints. I love how they travel all over for inspiration and put that back into their pieces.
CF: What do you love about fashion?
CG: Ever since I was little, I went shopping at Shorthills Mall with my mom, and I would play dress up with my little sister and older sister. My great grandmother is 99. She has given me all of her costume jewelry, and I’ve collected them. I’ve always put my own pieces together. I love it.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet?
CG: One of my vintage pieces my grandma gave me. It’s a gold chain and has three big yellow stones. It’s a big piece of chunky costume jewelry.
How To: To achieve this Fashionista’s trendy combination, check out this knit jacket from NASTY GAL and this Topshop flared dress. Add these ripped tights from ASOS along with these LuLu’s combat boots. Don’t fret, Fashionistas! There is still time to rock this season’s fur infinity scarf from Lord & Taylor.
