Style Guru Bio: Meaghan Drugan
05Sep 11
Hi there style enthusiasts, my name is Meaghan Drugan and I am a junior at Manhattan College in New York City. Currently I am pursuing a career in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Government. So how did I get to CollegeFashionista you ask? Growing up in a small town outside of Boston where fashion wasn’t so high up on the priority list is what got me here. When I was little I loved fashion, cities and all things that glittered. Upon my first trip to New York the bug bit me and I never got better; I couldn’t get enough. Not long after I was obsessed with Vogue, Carrie Bradshaw, and Fifth Avenue.
New York City is a place that someone can express themselves through the clothes they wear, and it leads him or her to feeling fun, free and adventurous. I wanted to live in a city that deems it socially acceptable to run and get coffee in five-inch heels. You should be excited to look in your closet every morning to decide what outfit you’re going to present yourself to the world in, even if you are only going to class. In the words of celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, “Be Glamorous. Every Day.” That’s where I come in, I’ll be giving you style advice from the very heart of Manhattan College, where the city’s influence on the students is seen everyday. Anyone can wake up and throw on any old thing but I’m here to turn that “any-old-thing” into something extraordinary (and at a CollegeFashionista’s budget!).
I would say my style is simple, classic, and chic. I love splurging on items that can be easily dressed up or dressed down, and knowing that I should save on the everyday wears. Being in college, I know that it is extremely hard to work around a certain price range, but I’ll be able to tell you how to imitate certain looks and where to get them at the best price.
I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this fall and to be giving you the best style advice for the fall season!
Style On,
