STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tailored Shorts

I'm currently abroad in Vienna, Austria and it's absolutely amazing being exposed to an even wider range of Fashionista/isto's compared to the ones around my usual stopping ground. I came across this Fashionista at the Museums Quartier, a common hangout for college students and I just loved how simple, yet polished her look was; with her choice of a black camisole, a pair of tailored high-waisted shorts, and sandals. I have never considered a tailored high waisted short an option, but I really fell in love with her look. I find denim cutoffs, if too short to be a hassle and not necessarily appropriate for every occasion and bermuda shorts not very flattering.
A tailored short is not only the perfect length, not too long or too short, but flattering as it cinches in the waist and can give the body some shape; just as the picture shows. The more I admired her tailored shorts the more I realized they are perfect for hanging out with friends if paired with a chic tank and ballet flats, for running around campus with a t-shirt and some comfy sneakers or possibly when going out with a cute blouse and high-heels.
I hope her tailored look inspires you to try tailored shorts too. I know I'm inspired to.
