STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ballerina Chic
STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ballerina Chic STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ballerina Chic

I'm still in Vienna and continuing to love the effortless fashion I've seen. What I've realized, thus far, is that Vienna style has evolved due to the fast pace environment in which the city's inhabitants live; they walk everywhere and don't constantly rely on a vehicle to go around the corner to the drugstore or market (like we Americans do), which makes it apparent that comfort is key when choosing outfits. Comfort is precisely the reason why I stopped this Fashionista. Her outfit was totally ballerina chic in my eyes– obviously no tutu in sight, but the leggings, blush jersey dress, ankle-wrapped sandals and top-knot bun were totally reminiscent of one. When it comes to being on the go, especially when running to class, there is nothing better than conveniently grabbing a pair of leggings and running out the door. My favorite are simple black, but there are a variety of colors and prints to keep in mind, which really helps make leisure dressing so much more fun and thoughtful. Another great aspect about leggings is how you can easily add them under a baggy shirt or dress, which gives the dress a more laid-back and comfortable look, because you don't have to worry about how much your dress is flaunting to the world.

Lastly, what really added to this Fashionista's ballerina chic look was her top-knot bun. I'm a big fan of high buns and an avid wearer of them myself, but her bun was very fun and avant-garde to me. I loved how confidently she rocked such a high knot on the side of her head. If you're unsure of making such a fashion statement like this Fashionista, don't worry– one in the middle is just as great!

P.S. You can't prance around the city without your ballet flats either, so don't forget!
