I knew I was near Lincoln Center and the renown white tents of NYFW when amazing look after amazing look strutted past me on the street. I arrived just as the Adrienne Vittadini Show was getting out, and just as the clothes in her spring 2011 collection did not disappoint, neither did those worn by the fashionistas lucky enough to witness her show.

One of my favorite trends I saw today that I have been dying to try myself was chunky, strappy platforms paired with high-ankled socks. Because it has been unseasonably warm these past few days in New York, this look has started making appearances around the city especially paired with rolled up pants and mid-calf length skirts.

Fur continued to make appearances today at NYFW on jackets, hats, and shoes, sometimes solidly colored and other times in leopard or bright hues. Outerwear pieces were refreshingly playful and creative, as fashionistas played with bright colored coats, bold exaggerated patterns, sophisticated capelets and oversized scarves.

This fashionista's bowtie, though relatively plain and simple, was my favorite accessory of the day, as she was able to make a typically menswear item super feminine and chic. By pairing the bowtie with a ruffled blouse (rather than a plain button-up), form-fitting skirt and sky-high wedges she was able to retain a girly flair to her ensemble while simultaneously making a quirky statement.

My personal favorite collection so far this season has to be that of Badgley Mischka; I love his use of light and ethereal colors and fabrics, the feminine silhouettes he creates and the beautifully intricate beading seen on many of his garments.
