A unique trend that has been spreading like wildfire since last year has made its way into menswear. Ombré hair first hit the scene last year when celebs like Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad sported the incredibly chic style. Since then, dip dye design has made its way into clothing, accessories and even nail art.
This risk taking Fashionisto offers an edgy take on ombré by wearing a bleach dip dyed denim shirt over a t-shirt. He wears dark denim and black leather Converse to solidify his edginess. It’s important to keep the rest of the colors as simple as possible, to really draw as much attention as possible to the ombré piece. The Fashionisto keeps the edgy theme with his facial scruff. If you look closely, you can notice the tint of blonde on the tips of his long hair, making him a true ombré lover.
If you’re looking for a softer way to try this look, try a dip dyed t-shirt with a pair of slim-fit chinos. If your shirt is bright, keep the bottom half neutral. The same rule applies vice versa.
Personally, I would really love to see more guys try out this look. It is a great transitional trend that can work for almost any season. It can be done in different pieces and therefore Fashionistos can wear it in any type of outfit. This is definitely a trend that I’m happy made its way from women's fashion to men’s fashion, and I look forward to seeing more of it this fall.
Hint: You can try keeping your ombré subtle by choosing items with one color in different shades!
