When I first spotted this Fashionista I thought, that’s a really cute skirt and she’s wearing colors that totally complement her hair. And then, as I was snapping a photo, I realized that all she would need to convert this summer outfit to a winter one would be a pair of tights, a scarf and a black leather jacket. In other words, everything she’s wearing is versatile, a closet staple – from her sunnies down to her boots. Her ensemble is proof that while dark hues are expected during the cooler months, they also work well when it’s warm – and with a super thin tank and breezy chiffon detail on her hem, she won’t break a sweat.

How To: I wasn’t surprised that Allyson loves to shop at Allsaints, because that’s where her skirt’s from. Of course, it’s the foundation of her entire look, and to pull it off, you’ll need one that’s up to par. I love this plaid by Vintage Boutique from Karmaloop, and if you prefer a mini, try Suno. Or, if you really love chiffon, check out these asymmetrical dresses from Nasty Gal and Rachel Comey. They’re light and airy, but give off a grunge vibe. Plus, if you throw over a long sleeve tee, they might as well be skirts that are very similar to this Fashionista’s. As for boots, I love the fringe on these Fiorentini + Bakers. But if you can’t afford the splurge, try these Rodeo wedges from Dune. These satchels from Need Supply Co. and Ruche will look great with whatever you wear – although this is especially true for Allyson, who’s got the perfect shade of hair to match.
