Syracuse has experienced record breaking temperatures in the past week, some of those temperatures passing 80 degrees. Hot weather in March is a foreign concept to most students, because in Syracuse snow usually is still on the ground well into April. One of the best parts about the unexpected warm weather is that all of the Fashionistas are stepping out in new spring outfits.
I spotted this Fashionista from across the quad and just had to go talk to her. She stood out from the crowd with her skyscraper height and bright yellow outfit. The yellow is fitting to the weather in more ways than one. Depending on if you want to compare her outfit to the shining sun or a flowering daffodil, it definitely screams springtime.
I asked her what influences her style. “I think probably a little bit of everything. I really like vintage shops just because I like thinking about where people might have bought things that I have now. I just like the idea.” She shops mostly at vintage shops, as well as Urban Outfitters and American Apparel.
Her knit shirt and flower shorts are from Urban Outfitters, and her yellow suede heels are from Forever 21. She bought her hat at a store called Village Scandal in New York City. Her retro glasses were her mother’s when she was in high school.
Care to splurge? Check out these similar yellow heels from Urban Outfitters. Don’t think you can pull off such a bright yellow hat? Try this other cloche instead from Anthropologie, which just has a nice pop of yellow.
Spotted: Louis Vuitton also does sunshine yellow in the spring 2012 ready-to-wear collection.
