After a whirlwind of just over a week abroad, the weather in Italy hasn’t exactly been what I expected. The many hours of each day have been consumed with endless amounts of rain; although, I can’t complain when in comparison to Madison’s weather of below freezing. Nevertheless, there have been several instances throughout the week when the sun comes up and I am immediately in love with this Eternal City. On my way to and in between classes, I’ve taken up the hobby of people watching while strolling around the cobblestone streets. I love getting a feel for the beauty and fashion of the new community around me!
While crossing the Ponte Sisto Bridge across the Tiber River, I spotted this Fashionista who looked perfect on the way to her on-sight class. Her eggplant colored blazer adds warmth and a pop of color to her high-waisted ankle length trousers. Her use of mauve color palettes makes her look winter appropriate on this chilly January day. While exploring the streets of Rome, I’ve noticed that these silhouette-fitting blazers are something that Italian woman can’t do without!
To continue, this Fashionista’s neutral colored scarf is a wardrobe must that adds a casual elegance to her outfit and makes her look effortlessly stylish. Scarves are another must for all Italian men and woman. Whether dressing down an outfit or dressing it up, a scarf is the perfect accessory to enhance your inner Italian chic.
Furthermore, while wearing metallic studs throughout an entire outfit may just be a little overwhelming, instead, this Fashionista lets her feet do the wearing. Her olive-toned oxford flats add a vintage flair to her look. The studs are just a gentle embellishment, rather than a harsher stud-and-spike look, which gives the outfit just enough amount of pop. To pull her entire look together, she adds layered bracelets, a cross-body bag, a pair of Tom Ford oversized sunglasses and a pocket notebook that make her look just right as she delves into the ancient history of Rome while at her on-sight class!
This Fashionista demonstrates how to take a classic chic look and perfectly accessorize with an elegant Italian feel. I can’t wait to try!
