Fall dresses look best when they’re spiced up a bit and kicked up a couple notches. In order to have some of the best looks in some of the coldest months of the year, you’re going to need to learn how to rock the dress. It’s important to stay both comfortable and warm at the same time. Tights, boots and a warm jacket are some ways to transform any dress into a perfect outfit that will last you through winter.
Layering is the perfect way to stay warm when wearing a dress. Start with either a plain or patterned dress and pair it with a long sweater or cardigan, boots and a fun scarf, which will create a cute fall look that can be worn to class or even out to a nice lunch or dinner. If it’s really cold out, swap the long sweater for a heavier jacket, or something similar to one of my personal favorites, Barbour, which will give you the extra warmth when you need it most. Another way to keep your body warm when wearing a dress on a chilly fall day is to opt for either leggings or jeggings to wear underneath your dress. This way your legs won’t freeze when walking to and from class. By choosing a long sleeved dress, you’ve already created another layer of fabric, which will keep the cold air off your body, and make it possible to wear through the chilliest fall and winter months.
So next time you’re out shopping, try on this look. It’s simple but chic, and it is sure to keep both you and your body hot!
