When I think of fall I immediately think of Halloween, apple picking, pumpkin spiced lattes and the leaves slowly changing color from deep green, to yellow, to red and orange. But that’s not all I think of. As we gear up for fall here at Gettysburg, I found a variety of people struttin' their stuff in a fall must-have, the blazer.
An essential and versatile piece of clothing, the blazer offers a look appropriate for a day on the job or at school, and can even be dressed up with jeans, heels and a sweater on a chilly fall night. This Fashionista has heads turning left and right in this beautiful scarlet red blazer, and serves as the perfect piece to throw on to keep warm on a cool fall day on campus. If you’re used to wearing neutral colors, step outside your comfort zone and try either a turquoise, hot pink or silver blazer — I promise you won’t regret it!
Perhaps the reason why some people are afraid of the blazer is because it is commonly associated with a corporate or overly sophisticated image but it doesn’t have to be! This Fashionista spices things up with a patterned top, flats and a chunky necklace for some extra depth, but a blazer like this would also look amazing with patterned tights, wedged boots and a high-waisted skirt.
So what do you have to lose? For a perfect fall look, pick the blazer because it’s a great way to stay warm and look hot at once.
