STYLE GURU BIO: Sander Hintzen

Style Guru Bio

College is the time for new discoveries. It is also a time to come to terms with one’s identity. I feel that clothing is a big part of identity and it is beautiful to see how many people around campus flourish and experiment with their style. While others might enjoy painting or singing, fashion serves as my creative outlet. I feel that I experience happiness while creating a wearable composition.

I am lucky to join CollegeFashionista because it opens another world for young creative people. As an Art History major, aesthetics are key to me. I hope to capture a wide variety of beauty and thereby encourage students to go the extra mile to really express their personality in clothes.

I do not necessarily believe in trends, rather, I believe in the beauty of taste. Having the courage to step out in what you find beautiful, rather than what’s perceived to be trendy or beautiful, is admirable. Furthermore, holding onto a trend in desperation is only holding somebody back to explore a greater palette of beauty.

Things that inspire me are not necessarily directly linked to fashion but more so to aesthetics. Drop me off at the National Gallery, the Louvre or any other gallery featuring Renaissance and Baroque paintings, and I will be happy for days. Also, the colors and contours perceived in nature are a great inspiration to me. However, my greatest inspiration is my imagination. If it is possible in your mind, then it is possible. Have fun, go all out and don’t be afraid.
