On a lazy Saturday morning in the middle of a snowy, slushy and cold March, I was not strutting around in my most fabulous of ensembles enjoying some kind of luxurious day. I am sad to report that I was wearing jeans, snow boots and a long, black puffer coat while running a quick errand when I ran into this Fashionista. I was as equally enamored with her look as I was upset with my own when I caught up with her to snap her photo.
This Fashionista, who had just gotten back from shopping with her equally as fabulous friend, reminded me just how fun it is to dress up on any given day. When the sidewalks are as slushy as they have been lately, it’s easy to throw on any old pair of shoes and call it a day, but she wore a pair of lace-up wedge boots that are to die for. Even though winter had done some damage to them, the boots gave her a distinct look that no one else in Madison is currently rocking. I saw this Fashionista coming from a mile away because these boots commanded my attention. Even if you aren’t brave enough to don ones quite as sky-high as this Fashionista’s, grab a pair of wedge boots for yourself. They are sure to give your ensemble the edge it needs during our last weeks of winter.
Another aspect of this Fashionista’s ensemble that I love is her oversized wool coat. Outerwear is an easy way to summarize your style — take advantage! Don’t forget about the details of an outfit either. They are what take your look from average to stellar. This Fashionista experimented with round sunglasses and knuckle rings. It’s easy to say that I am obsessed and think you should be too.
Just a few statement pieces can turn a lazy Saturday morning into a fabulously fashionable day. Don’t let the cold and slush get to you, and make the extra effort to turn the sidewalk into your runway.
