I think it’s safe to say that long hair is a major trend among Fashionistas in Madison. My hair is a couple inches below my shoulders, and I might as well have a pixie. People have said to me, “Oh, your hair is so short!” or “Would you ever want to have long hair?” It boggles my mind, but I guess super long locks are just on the brain for the style-savvy.
This Fashionista gave Rapunzel a run for her money with her head of hair. Long hair has the potential to be beautiful like hers, but it can turn scraggly in a second if you’re not maintaining it. It’s important to not wash your hair everyday; shampoo strips your hair of it's natural oils and dries it out. When you do wash your hair though, use a ceramic blow dryer. I find that mine makes my hair soft, voluminous and all around better looking. Since the heat has the potential to damage hair, you can use a heat protectant spray before you use your blow dryer or any other styling tool to create a safe barrier. Using a deep conditioner once a week will only add softness and shine, so why not make it part of your beauty regimen? Also, just because you have long hair doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get a haircut. Keeping your ends trimmed and adding a few layers here and there can help your hair look neat and taken care of.
Even though this Fashionista’s hair was envy-worthy enough, I can’t stop obsessing over her coat. First of all, I love that it has short sleeves — all the better to creatively layer with! And I just can’t get over the fur lapel and insanely cool clasp. Find a unique coat to help keep things interesting since it is officially freezing outside. Experiment with layering and fun details before extreme bundling up is required.
