Many people decide to not dress well on days when the weather is equally as bad. It’s like as soon as they see the rain outside their bedroom window it's time to lower their standards and dress for comfort rather than looks; however, this week's Fashionisto easily ties both into his outfit without trying to hard.
I snapped this Fashionisto strolling to class and thought he was the perfect example of this ideal. He was wearing a light denim pair of jeans that not only fit well, but the lighter colour is perfect for spring and when the sun comes out. Pairing the denim with a complementing navy polo shirt by designer Ralph Lauren, the logo and detail on shoulder contrasts beautifully in orange and adds that little bit of colour to his outfit to make it interesting. Simple, but stylish, charcoal shoes end the outfit by tying it all up brilliantly and not making a statement. The overall look is clean, tidy and attractive with the Fashionisto giving of an air of casual cool.
A Kathmandu black Puffer Jacket is a must for New Zealand weather. It is light enough to carry but being made out of feathers, it will protect from any level of coldness from a spring shower to a winter chill. It is hard not to go through campus and not spot one so I would be quick to grab one soon as even though it is coming up to summer, you always need something to protect you on cold summer nights. If Kathmandu is not your thing you can also purchase similar styles from New Zealand company Huffer who do some fashionable jackets as well.
What really excited me about this Fashionisto's outfit was his fun and quirky socks. Even though you outfit may look simple from the outside, it’s easy to make it interesting with accessories such as socks or a hat or even jewelry. It gives personality to an outfit and spots are a pattern that can never go out of fashion.
