Wearing any piece of white clothing can be scary. Your morning coffee or mid-afternoon ice cream could easily find their way onto your clean white garments. Although there is always a risk that comes with sporting lighter pieces, it’s one that is very worth taking. As this Fashionista and the DKNY pre-fall 2014 collection prove, rocking white on white is dangerously chic.
The DKNY collection featured a primarily black and white color scheme with pops of color and other neutral shades incorporated into the final set of looks. As most Fashionista/os can agree, black and white are go-to colors that never fail to impress. Holding true to the no fail tint, this Fashionista emulates some of the white on white looks in the collection.
Dressing for the hot weather, she smartly opts for a sleeveless denim vest and an airy white top. A white denim vest doesn’t have to be packed away after the summer. Keep it ready to wear over a dress and tights or with your regular blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
As can be spotted on the model and the Fashionista, mixing up textures is key when donning a nearly all-white look. This Fashionista nails it by playing with different materials with her vest, top and structured white bag. Her shiny booties and cut-offs balance out the monochromatic top half of her look and keep her comfortable for the weather.
Since stealing clothes right off the runway isn’t an option or morally sound, translating these designer looks with pieces you already own is the next best option. So reach for your LWD and pair it with a white leather jacket for a DKNY-inspired look. Add some shiny black boots to make it pre-fall appropriate and you’ll be set.
