For some reason, I have always had this fixation on pants, and my closet stands as my greatest witness. The item that takes up the most space would have to be my 15 plus pairs of jeans, all which are different colors and styles. From acid wash to brightly flowered prints, my jeans are the number one item that define my outfits. And because of my obsession, I tend to look down at people as I pass them to see if they sport any interesting pants or jeans. Here in Austin I have actually been lucky to find a handful of Fashionistos and Fashionistas alike who wear neon jeans and interestingly patterned leggings. I have, however, never seen a pair of pants in the particular hue that this Fashionisto wears.
Worn with a simple polo shirt, these mulberry trousers stand out amongst the dull stony path along the UT campus. Had he slightly cropped his pants, his Clark’s chukka boot would have peeked out a bit more. Nonetheless, the effortless combo caught my attention as I frantically scoured for Fashionistos amongst the UT student body. The unique color of his cotton trousers is not one seen often and he left me completely enamored with this mulberry color. His complete ensemble reflected the style seen in the J.Crew, and this Fashionisto confessed that he merely threw on this combination and normally wears more put together outfits—this is a definite sign of a true Fashionisto.
Hint: Colored pants are an obvious trend this year, but experiment with more unusual shades such as seafoam green and pastel pink. Paired with a denim button-down or even a plain t-shirt, these pants will stand out amongst the regular denim seen on the majority of men.
