LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Colors Of Oak

Let's Hear it for the Boys

Although not quite like Woodstock, New York, Austin does not veer far from it; it’s a city filled with boho lovers and vegetarians. With a strikingly large percentage of vegan-friendly restaurants and parks with a dog-to-person ratio of about one to two, it is 100 percent normal to see hippies and hipsters on a daily basis. The most interesting part is that the people of Austin acknowledge their eccentric style and pride themselves on their motto, “Keep Austin Weird.” Although I have become quite immune to spotting people who wear costumes on days other than Halloween, there are also those people who subtly wear hints of clothing that suggest a rather natural and bohemian vibe.

This Fashionisto does exactly this — his natural color palette throughout his entire outfit serves as a fashionable tool to dressing well. Although a rather simple look, his earthy tones resemble those of an oak tree. Not only do these Fashionisto’s green pants and sweater match, but his mahogany tinted Clarks boots serve as a compatible shoe that harmonizes with this particular shade of green. Without trying too hard, this Fashionisto’s outfit embodies a boho casual look for men. Note, this Fashionisto simply sports a graphic T-shirt and colored pants — a personal casual favorite. It also comes to no surprise that this Fashionisto is a lover for the tunes of Ben Howard and The Head and the Heart. This Fashionisto is a true music lover that likes to keep it simple.

Hint: This Fashionisto only uses his color palette and shoes to make a statement. It’s really easy to dress well, even if it does not include loud colors or articles of clothing. Menswear tends to be classic and stagnant; the cuts and fits of most clothes remain the same with little to no change over the span of ten years. Experiment with simplicity by using a great shoe to make your outfit stylish, or even just using interesting color combinations, such as oxblood and forest green, or mustard and black.
