FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Sally Cho

Fashionista Spotlight

This week’s Fashionista is a Wisconsin native that is no stranger to braving a midwest-cold winter. The high collar of her chic bomber jacket is the best indication of her well-weathered style; it manages to distract from the most inevitable trait of winter clothing: puffy. With an instagram that rivals any foodie- blog out there, its clear that this super-chic Fashionista has an appreciation for all things both posh (cheetah print and macaroons) and comfy (chunky sweaters and grilled cheese).

Name: Sally Cho

Major: Biology and Spanish

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Where do you usually find your fashion inspiration?

Sally Cho: I try to find inspiration to anything and everything around me from food to textbook covers. But, with social media being so easy to access like instagram, I can follow and be inspired by super chic fashion bloggers and art from all around the world.

CF: How do you define your own personal style?

SC: I don’t really have one specific style because it depends on my mood, but I tend to like simple chic with a minimalistic look and the effortless-chic-unpolished look.

CF: How do you manage to stay stylish while braving the cold?

SC: When it’s super cold, I throw on a chunky scarf and fun, stylish boots to keep me extra toasty

CF: Do you have a favorite trend for the winter season?

SC: Cozy knits are my all time favorite trend for the winter season because it keeps you warm and comfortable.

How To: Keep it simple in leggings and a funky-patterned sweater to avoid the bulkiness under your plenty-warm winter jacket. To stay wintry-chic, try a high collar that doubles as a hood. Accessories are your chance to add a little brightness to the gloom and doom of some winter colors, add some brights in your handbag (check our Marc Jacobs’ fall 2012 runway) or scarves.
