STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The September Issue

Style Advice of the Week

At the beginning of every semester I witness students facing the same transitional dilema; I want to wear my fall clothes. In late August and early September temperatures remain hot, but our interest in clothes shifts to cozy flannels and fall boots. This week's Fashionisto shows us how to wear your fall pieces without looking like you belong at Thanksgiving dinner.

While jeans can never steer you wrong, wearing lightweight khakis can update your look. This Fashionisto chose a pair from Vineyard Vines. Their light brown color adds a hint of fall sophistication into his otherwise laidback look. His choice in pairing charcoal grey tennis shoes with a royal blue button-up and slightly darker hat keeps the color palette fall appropriate and his look casual.

To get his look play up color combinations: Don't be afraid to mix and match different hues the way this Fashionisto has paired different blues. I love brown and grey color combinations, and back to school style should always include your favorite flannel. If you'd rather opt for jeans wear your favorite pair with a brown and green flannel. Throw on CollegeFashionista favorite, Ray-Bans and head to class.
