STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Rainbow Sherbet

Style Advice of the Week

Monochromatic looks have been a long-time favorite style of mine, and monochromatic blues have been all over everything this fall. This Fashionista caught my eye in a monochromatic pink look with watercolor inspired splashes of pastel. I love that this Fashionista utilizes three fall trends; monochromatics, a high-low shirt and backpack. Her nails add a splash of neon, and I love that she incorporated a cheetah print.

To get this look I would try out a monochromatic look combining fall favorites: black and blue. As the temperatures cool down, I reccommend going with a dark blue pant; I love these wide-leg cords from Free People. Following the '70s vibe, add this knotted Wildfox Couture T-shirt and this fringe sweater for an even darker hue and an interesting mix of lengths and textures. Mixing and matching length is this fall's high-low, and it makes getting dressed far simpler. If it's really chilly, throw on a blue flannel under your T-shirt. Layer parties are even more fun than arm parties.

Use monochromatic style as a way of expressing your mood — if you're feeling bold and dangerous go for red! If it's a moody Monday then dark blues are the obvious choice. For a happier, dreamy vibe, follow this Fashionista's style and go for top to bottom pastels. I'm a firm believer that your outfit can affect your mood, so if Mondays kill you then throw on a bright color like yellow. Personally I think the best Monday accessories are “leave me alone” sunglasses, killer high heels and a triple black venti.
