REAL WAY RUNWAY: Check Her Out

Let’s face it, Fashionistas/os—it is cold out. And I am not talking about “oh it’s chilly, I should throw on a sweater” cold. I am talking about “-25-degree windchill, fingers may fall off” cold. Something tells me a light sweater just won’t cut it… And while it may be time to truly bundle up, it doesn’t mean you have to throw fashion to the wind (or impending snow).

While the New Year is still, well, new, Lanvin’s pre-fall 2015 show just hit the internet and it already has Fashionistas/os buzzing. Alber Elbaz used rich colors and even richer fabrics and prints to create a collection that is truly lust-worthy. Our favorite look is a houndstooth on houndstooth on houndstooth ensemble that is the definition of chic.

Sure, wearing that much print may not be practical, it doesn’t mean you can’t get inspired and incorporate some hints of this most recent Lanvin show into your wardrobe today. This Fashionista is feeling the color palette and use of print by rocking a very useful and equally fashionable oversized scarf. When the temperatures dip so low you think your weather app is playing tricks on you, you will be happy to have an oversized scarf. You can wear it loose and flowy, like this Fashionista. Or you can wrap it several times for a chunkier, warmer look.

Furthermore, just like the Lanvin colleciton, the black and white of this Fashionista’s scarf is bold and striking. Back and white is a classic combo that is sure to never go out of style. So investing in a nice scarf in these colors is sure to last you for seasons to come.

Instead of enrolling in only online classes and stocking up on sweatpants, embrace the weather the best you can. Get inspired to be bold, bright and, perhaps most importantly, warm this winter.
