Fishtail braids have been all the rage this past summer, and now that we are well on our way into fall, it doesn’t look like it's going away anytime soon. This sea-enthused braided hairstyle made a big impact at New York Fashion Week. A key show that rocked this trend was Tory Burch. In comparison to some of the other fall hair trends, the fishtail looks like it could be complicated to learn. Definitely check out one of the many tutorials on this fabulous braid but know the hardest thing about doing a fishtail braid on yourself is simply getting it started. An easy fix to this intricate start is to begin braiding just above the ear and start with a clear elastic then cut it out at the end. By starting with an elastic at the top, you never have to worry about holding four confusing pieces together to get your braid going; you can just go straight into it!

This Fashionista paired her fishtail with key fall staples including dark jeans, a sweater and boots. A fishtail makes any outfit look pulled together, yet effortless. You can style the fishtail trend in a variety of ways. A Fashionista can do a simple single fishtail, just like this gorgeous Fashionista did or you can do two fishtails just like they were styled at the Tory Burch show. You can also opt to wear the braid in a messy, carefree style or wear it as a more prim braid for a put together style. To create a messy fishtail you can use Pantene Pro-V Texture Spray to create volume. The fishtail braid can be really versatile, this style is perfect for a wide range of occasions such as work, going to class or just hanging out with friends.
