When it comes to menswear, it often happens that a seemingly fashionable male will neglect a major piece of his outfit: shoes. You could see a great outfit, complete with what appear to be all the right accessories, only to look down and see that he paired them with his old, muddy gym sneakers or Adidas flip-flops. However, when I spotted this Fashionisto leaving campus during final exam week, a refreshing thought went through my mind; there are college-aged gentlemen who do care about what they put on their feet.
This Fashionisto’s overall outfit is seasonally appropriate for mid-December and is easy to emulate, as it consists of several closet staples. He started with a pair of brown corduroy pants, which can be found anywhere from J.Crew to Zara. You could stick with a neutral color, like brown, navy or tan, or you could opt for a statement-making color, like this pair from Vineyard Vines. He paired the pants with a gray V-neck sweater, as it was a cooler December day in South Carolina. Because this Fashionisto stuck to neutrals for both the pants and the sweater, he chose a green striped button-down; this added a subtle definition of color and print to the overall look.
This Fashionisto tied his outfit together with a great pair of suede shoes. He pulled the gray color of the shoes to go with the gray sweater, which drew all of the colors of his outfit together nicely. This Fashionisto chose to go with gray, but depending on the other colors in your outfit you could choose blue, green, tan or virtually any color you would like! Opt for seasonal staples and a pair of fashionable shoes like this Fashionisto did, and you will have the perfect go-to December look.
