It’s Friday morning and you’ve got one more class to sit through until your weekend starts. As plans for the weekend cloud your mind, you’re slowly starting to lose all concentration. You may even slip into something more unappealingly casual than fashionable at this point. Don’t worry; the chambray shirt will save your outfit from looking ordinary!
This Fashionista is wearing a chambray button-up shirt, white basic T-shirt, grey cuffed-up jeans, skinny brown-knotted belt, gold watch, and white Sperry shoes. Her books and school materials sit in a white canvas tote. This Fashionista perfectly demonstrates how you can keep it cool and easy with basic items. The items that set her apart from those who solely wear V-neck T-shirts, jeans, and flip-flops are her chambray button-up and Sperry shoes. The chambray button-up should be a must-have item in every Fashionista/o’s closet. Its unique color and pattern makes it easy to match with almost any outfit. Its versatility gives you the option of dressing it up or dressing it down.
If you’re stuck on how to wear the charming chambray button-up, here are a few ways. One of my favorite outfits includes the chambray shirt tucked into white skinny jeans with brown or nude colored wedges. Another outfit could be a black cotton dress, unbuttoned chambray shirt, and short lace-up boots. For men, you can wear the chambray shirt with khaki pants and a pair of Nike SB Janoski shoes. Embrace chambray. It’s nice for summer and it’ll be even nicer for fall.
Spotted: Models incorporate the chambray pattern in unique ways, such as dresses and pants, in Balmain S/S 2012 Runway Show.
