My name is Quinn Ernst and I could not be more excited to be back as a Style Guru for the University of South Carolina! I am currently a sophomore majoring in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in journalism. I loved writing for CollegeFashionista my freshman year so I could not be happier that they let me come back. I will be writing the FASHIONISTA/O SPOTLIGHT article. University of South Carolina has a large amount of diversity in fashion, more than people would expect, and I will be showing it to you all. I want to break the stereotype of southern schools. We have students from all over the world here in South Carolina and everyone has a different style. I know I get a lot of my fashion inspiration from people around campus and hopefully I can inspire some of them, and you, as well.
My day-to-day style consists of classic preppy pieces. I have classic structured American sportswear pieces that I like to build off of. My wardrobe is very menswear inspired. I love blazers, button-ups and anything Ralph Lauren. I make my outfits more feminine by adding in color and texture. I love bright colors, silks, ruffles, embellishments; basically anything girly. I add interest to a simple outfit of skinnies and a navy blazer with a lime scarf or cheetah-printed flats. I absolutely love adding visual interest with shoes; pairing heels covered in spikes with a flowy dress or gold snake skin flats with black jeans.
I have been interested in fashion for as long as I can remember. It is the only industry that I have ever wanted to be a part of. I hope my passion and excitement for fashion can be seen in my articles. I am looking forward to another great semester with CollegeFashionista!
