Last semester I wrote an article all about the different types of animal prints to experiment with, and when I spotted the strappy sandals on this week’s Fashionista, it is definitely safe to say that the trend lives on. However, when it comes to animal prints, I prefer a more daring approach: snake skin!
This trend was generally seen in the fall, but this Fashionista transitioned it perfectly into her spring ensemble (with the help of color blocking). What I love about the snake skin trend is its uniqueness compared to the usual leopard print that everyone knows and sees on a daily basis. Also, the colors are much more versatile with the blacks, whites and browns, that you can practically match any color in your wardrobe. This trend is not only on clothing and accessories anymore either; there is even a $300 pedicure using actual snake skin on your nails! Clearly, we Fashionistas/os have many options depending on how daring you want to be.
An obvious choice would be a pair of python printed shoes, but this Fashionista went for a pair of strappy sandals, which are not too loud and add the perfect edge. Another great way to incorporate this exotic print into your closet would be with a belt. Pair a belt with a neutral colored pant and a bold top and voilà! Animal print done at its best.
Spotted: Chloé's fall ready-to-wear runway show featured snake skin printed clothing, such as jackets and tops paired with bold colored clothing.
