Without a doubt I have definitely been seeing the feather trend around campus. It is a great way to add some edge to your ensemble without going overboard or looking crazy. Tons of girls are rocking the feather hair extensions, but for many it can be a little too much on the wild side. That is why I love the accessory this week’s Fashionista is wearing: a feather necklace. It is a simple statement that helps complete her entire look.
Instead of feather extensions or a necklace you could opt for some feather earrings. If you want to match the warm summer weather and a cute hat with a feather on the side, this would also be an adorable accessory. If a hat is too much (let’s face it, a lot of people just cannot stand hat hair), maybe a simple headband would be more suited to your liking and style. I would personally incorporate a feather accessory while wearing a maxi skirt or dress or with a denim vest just like her.
What I also loved about this Fashionista’s outfit were her shoes. For the summer, I personally love a chunky shoe because I feel it gives more personality to her outfit (just like her amazing sunglasses), and they are studded too, which is also extremely trendy this year.
Spotted: Chanel’s spring 2011 runway show incorporated feathers into the classic tweed suit. It looked very modern, feminine and chic while still keeping the classic look Coco Chanel herself created.
